One room, twenty square metres: queen bed against one wall, kitchenette in the corner, sitting space in between. The kitchenette earns its keep on a longer stay, with a two-burner cooktop, a toaster and cookware that goes past the token pan. Colour is used deliberately here, bold against monochrome walls, and no two suites in the building repeat each other. The bathroom is private and attached.
The Queen Studio sits on the second floor and there is no lift, so pack accordingly. Inside the building: the Raines Law Room on the ground floor, laundry on site, and wifi that holds up to a working day. The Culture Curators handle tables and tickets.
No lift reaches the second floor, so the stairs are part of the deal. The house keeps no gym and no kitchen beyond the bar. Smoking, pets and parties are not allowed. Everything else about the place is 1920s: two Beaux-Arts brownstones joined into one, built as a private club for Williams College.
